Save yourself the trouble, get a PS3 if you don't have one, get The Legacy Collection for 25$ on Amazon, and enjoy some of the best titles gaming has to offer. Going into this with just cutscenes will be quite confusing because the game regularly talks about events on a 50 year time line (1964 - 2014). It was a mess and it wasn't complicated so it was generally easy to follow. The problem here is Kingdom Hearts story wasn't exactly good. The games prior to V are mostly cutscenes. There are dozens of hours of cutscenes and codec calls. Haha, get ready to sit down for a week to watch it all. >but I think watching all the cutscenes online for the games leading up to it should work, right? Looks like it's down to $27.50 now too qid=1466955575&sr=8-1&keywords=metal+gear+legacy If you like a challenge, start on Normal and work your way up.ĮDIT: $29.99 Canadian, FYI. Easy mode is pretty damn easy for MGS games (MGS2 even has a "very easy" mode if I'm not mistaken) so if you just want to play and catch up on the story for those games, you can do so with minimal frustration. If you played action games from the PS1/N64/Dreamcast era though you should be able to pick up and play. MGS1 for PS1 may be hard for someone who's never played it before to get into. Even at that price for the amount of games you're getting, this is a steal. #Eternal sonata ost reddit downloadI wanted the codes for MGS1 and MGS VR Missions so I could download them to my Vita (MGS1 needs a PS3 to transfer in NA, FYI). I got the one without the artbook for $29.99. I'd recommend the Legacy Collection new off Amazon. Provided you go and buy a fucking physical copy. Which is worse because emulation has provided you with a legally approved way of playing the game. And are looking for any possible excuse you can find to justify your actions. Your stance on this is the very reason why piracy gets emulation in shit.īecause you have an "I want it my way" attitude. Which is irrelevant to that fact that you can legimately buy a new PS3 copy of the game to be a legally covered emulation. I will buy the game if its on my platform. The game is also a digital download on PS3, so it's going to be a while before you can argue it's truly not available. But the emulation isn't being done in 12 months. You might have an argument 12-18 months from now. #Eternal sonata ost reddit seriesSo you're probably asking yourself, is it really worth paying $80 or more for a last-gen series that admittedly has some major issues? I would say yes, it still is worth it, because in total you're looking at 130 hours + for a single playthrough and it has a lot of replayability, and like I said, the stuff that's good about Mass Effect (the characters, overall story, amazing emotional moments, hard decisions) is so good that it's still worth it despite the price tag and problems.ĭon't try pull that bullshit, the PS3 production may have ceased it's still perfectly feasible to buy the game and a new PS3 in the wild. Non-Essential, but still good: The Price of Revenge, Stolen Memory (includes extra squad member), OverlordĮssential: Extended Cut (free), From Ashes (includes extra squad member), Citadel, LeviathanĮxpect to spend $20-$30 on the base trilogy and maybe $50+ on the DLC. Some DLC is really essential to the story and some isn't:Įssential: Lair of the Shadow Broker, Arrival The DLC can be purchased on Amazon or directly through Origin (by clicking on the "i" button on the games' icon in your Origin library) but it doesn't go on sale that often. It doesn't contain the DLC for ME2 or 3, and some of that DLC is actually story-essential. Unfortunately it only contains the 3 base games and the DLC for ME1. There is a Mass Effect Trilogy bundle available from Origin or Amazon (for an Origin code).
